Madlipz

As we have been watching in class the pronunciation, yesterday we dedicated ourselves to use the application of madlipz to work and improve our pronunciation and intonation for this we made three videos that I will attach to this blog post. I found it a very interesting and fun activity to work on this topic, so I think it can be a very useful tool for activities within the classroom.

Phrasal verbs

In the last classes we have been looking at phrasal verbs, and I found it interesting after researching different pages that are verbs that are difficult for people to learn. So I was looking for didactic tools to learn this unit, and I got a game that I would like to share here.  Game Game  2

Ipsative Assesment

Imagen
In today's class we talked about ipsative assessment, we reflected a little on the importance of not evaluating all students equally, since not all are in the same family, technological and linguistic circumstances.  For this we saw two quite interesting videos, where you can see how each person has gone through a different situation.  In the first video, we can see a race where they make people who have had more facilities during their lives take two steps from the starting line, and not because of decisions they themselves have made but because of family decisions or external contexts, and the people who have had more difficulties throughout their lives stay at the main starting line and in the end we come to the conclusion that privileged people have an easier time achieving their goals.    From this video I can reflect that in this way we are in different boxes and in the end we end up having things in common with others about situations from our past, and ...

Passive in songs

Imagen
In class, I was very impressed by the example songs that were given to us where we could see the forms of passive, so that same afternoon I started to look for videos about compilations of songs where they could be seen, since it seems to me that with examples it is the best way to learn, and what better than with music that we like? So I'll leave you with some of the videos I liked on this subject.  I liked this video a lot because it has songs that I like, both from my favorite movies and from one of my favorite series which is glee.  I wanted to share this one because it has a song by my favorite group, goner, which is by twenty one pilots.    Finally I leave this video that I also liked because it was the songs I used to listen to when I was in high school, plus it also has songs from Disney movies that I grew up with.  I think it's a very good option to exemplify this kind of thing with songs, since this way it's much easier and funnier to be able to identi...

Project 3: Interactive poster. The process.

Imagen
For project number 3 we have to make an interactive poster with different activities and resources that we can use within our classrooms, both games, videos, listenings, etc. After thinking about different topics that I could use I decided to do it about space, the solar system and the planets, since it is a pretty interesting topic and from which you can get a lot of ideas. The class I chose is the five year old one, since this topic is a bit complex for a 3-4 year old class, so from this I already started looking for different resources I could use. With this idea in mind, I made the poster in canvas so I could later move it to thinglink and include all the resources I wanted to use.  This is the poster that i made in canva

Modal Verbs

Imagen
In the last two classes we studied the modal verbs with a very interactive application where the teacher put both the presentation and various exercises that we had to answer. This was nearpod. Regarding modal verbs we have the following verbs: can, could, may, might, shall, should, must, have to, will, would, ought to, had better. Each of these has a different function although some of them are similar but are used depending on the situation. In summary we have learned the following:   Can: is used for ability, permission, offers.  Could: is used for possibility, past ability, permission, request.  Have to: is used for obligation.  May: is used for possibility, permission.  Might: is used fot slight possibility, past form of may in reported speech.  Must: is used for obligation and logical deduction.  Mustn't : is used for prohibition.  Should: is used for advice and logical deduction.  Ought to : is used for advide and logical ...

Project 2: The zoo (Final)

Project 2: The Zoo

After making the mind map and flashcards with the goconqr tool this is the result. The class I chose to contextualize these resources is a four year class, first we would see the mind map to know the types of animals that we can find in the zoo, know each of them, mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and reptiles, and a small introduction is given about each one.  Mapa Mental creado con GoConqr por Arantxa Díaz Guzmán Then we go to see the flashcards and read the information behind the flashcards which is where the different data of each animal is. Conjunto de Fichas creado con GoConqr por Arantxa Díaz Guzmán After having learned about these animals we will play the game of yes or no, where first the teacher will place one of the different flashcards on the forehead and ask questions about the data we have already known before, for example: is it a mammal? Does it live in the water? And the children will have to answer yes or no, until the teacher says which is the animal, and so on...

Project 2: Mind Map & Flashcards

Imagen
Today what I did was to focus on project number two, which consists of two parts, the first making a mind map and the second flash cards. The first thing I have to do is to choose the theme to make, the theme of dinosaurs called my attention a lot but as it was the example that came in the guide I had to discard it. So I decided to do it from the zoo, since I think it's a good theme if we can later make an excursion to the zoo to see what we've learned. The class I chose to do this project is the 4 year old class. To start the mind map I am going to separate the animals that we can get at the zoo by mammals, fish, birds, reptiles and amphibians. For the mind map and the flashcards I will use the canva application.

We learn about conditionals

Imagen
In today's class we learned about conditionals, what are conditionals?  They describe the result of something that might happen (in the present or future) or might have happened but didn't (in the past) . They are made using different English verb tenses.  Another definition can also be "Conditional tenses are used to speculate about what could happen, what might have happened, and what we wish would happen. In English, most sentences using the conditional contain the word if . Many conditional forms in English are used in sentences that include verbs in one of the past tenses. This usage is referred to as "the unreal past" because we use a past tense but we are not actually referring to something that happened in the past. There are five main ways of constructing conditional sentences in English. In all cases, these sentences are made up of an if clause and a main clause. In many negative conditional sentences, there is an equivalent sentence constru...

School system of England

Imagen
Today what we did was to continue working with our first project, which consists of making an infographic of the educational system of another country, in my case I have chosen England because I found it interesting to know what differences exist between that system and that of Spain.  The tool I used to make the infographic was canva, because it is one of the pages that I already know before since I have used it to make works in past subjects and it seems to me that it is quite useful and that it has a lot of variety of designs to use.  To begin this project what I did was to look for information on the internet about how the English educational system was and the truth is that there were many pages that explained it very well, I liked this one very much even though it was in Spanish. https://trucoslondres.com/vivir/estudiar/sistema-educativo-ingles/ Although I also consulted many other pages, I organized all the information I found and after that I already started to do the ...

Welcome to my blog

Imagen
Hi welcome to my blog, my name is Arantxa Díaz Guzmán, i'm from Venezuela specifically from a small town called Maracay, I lived there until I was eighteen years old until I emigrated to Spain, now I live in Alicante.  I study infant education and I am already in the fourth year of my degree. I like music a lot,I listen to all kinds of music and I enjoy it, besides that I play the guitar and I would like to learn to play more instruments, that is one of my hobbies. I also like sports a lot, I used to play soccer, now I only watch sports on TV because of the reduced time I have, but I wish I could do it again. About what I expect from this course is to learn how to teach English to children in a more dynamic and fun way. Finally, as a summary of today's class we were making this blog where we will be constantly sharing the progress of the projects that we will be doing throughout the course and also information about the topics that we will see in class.
